Skip my historical and descriptive post and grab some popcorn for Medical Improv: Learning Experiences that Promote Safe Care, Patient Satisfaction, and Rewarding Careers!
OMG I can’t believe it has been almost 3 years since Stephanie Frederick, M.Ed, RN, Judy White, SPHR, GPHR and I used Google Hangout to create a full length documentary about Medical Improv! It wasn’t easy and we had so many technical glitches that I’ve repressed them! AHHHHHHH!!!
We did it though! Stephanie was in AZ, Judy in NC, and I was in NH. That’s not all we were joined live by six Medical Improv experts from all over the country who said “YES” to trying a new medium to explain this exciting process. We spent countless hours, planning, networking, broadcasting, rebroadcasting, and editing! All because we were and are committed to sharing the exciting process call MEDICAL IMPROV! (Where are you all now? Feel free to post and link to your work in the comment section and I’ll be sure to share on social media!)
The first 100 minutes explains the process and why it is so valuable, the last 40 or so minutes you’ll see our expert panel demonstrating some fun activities. And we had an amazing lineup!
(NYU Professor, Nancy Smithner, Anesthesiologist, Writer, and Actor, Rich Snyder, MSW Student and Improviser Lauren Dowden, Duke University School of Medicine Standardized Patient and Improviser, Daniel Sipp, Naturopathic Physician and Improviser, Stephanie Draus, and Actor and Medical Student Tobias Squier-Roper!). It was a lot of work and a lot of fun!
Medical Improv is gaining traction!
